The Great Green Meadowbank Challenge on 10th Nov

As part of a fantastic inquiry unit of work the Year 5 students and teachers at Meadowbank School have been planning, designing and creating a rogaine event around the Meadowbank community. The event is open to the public and will be an epic family day out – so come and join the fun!

WHAT IS ROGAINE?
Rogaine is the sport of long distance cross country navigation in which teams of 2-5 members visit as many checkpoints as possible within a given time limit, usually 24 hours! Our event is 2 hours.
Teams travel entirely on foot, navigating by a map. Checkpoints may be visited in any order, with checkpoints being allocated differing points. Teams can also choose to participate in a range of enviro challenges for points (like the amazing race!) The highest overall score wins. Penalty points are deducted from a team’s overall score for a late return.

EVENT CENTRE:
The event centre is at Meadowbank School on the senior side campus, situated on Waiatarua Road.
ON THE DAY: Saturday November 10th
Registration opens at 1pm with the race starting at 2pm and finishing at 4pm.

While officials are adding up the scores race contestants will have the opportunity to buy a sausage or relax with a picnic on the field.

Prize giving at 4.30pm with fun prizes for the teams with the highest scores as well as spot prizes.

Teams will need to pre-register for this event before November 6th.
